The Blue Gargoyle serves as a hub for community services in order to provide positive opportunities for youth and families on the Southside of Chicago. Through partnerships and programs in arts, education, and workforce development, we provide youth and families the opportunity to become self-sustaining in a rapidly changing world.

Mission: Changing Lives
Resurrecting History
Blue Gargoyle Youth Services started in 1968 at University Church Chicago from a group of divinity students responding to the lack of fellowship and community feeling in the campus area. Soon a simple coffeehouse expanded into counseling services, an adult literacy program, and an arts incubator for jazz, house and hip-hop, among many other impactful programs. The original Blue Gargoyle shut its doors in 2009, and the return of the Blue Gargoyle in 2015 means more opportunities for the people that need them most!
